Foundation for Change

The HITT Contracting Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2021 to unify HITT's philanthropic efforts and maximize our giving impact. The Foundation's mission is to improve the lives of our team members, partners, and subcontractors through investments in technology, education, relationships, and community. The Foundation invests in the next generation of builders and innovative construction practices through scholarships and endowments, supporting institutions that focus on improving team members' collective wellbeing, and research and development. Inspired by the legacy of Chairman Emeritus Russell Hitt who was passionate about giving both philanthropically and through volunteerism, the Foundation allows HITT to further achieve our purpose.

The Big Build

HITT proudly participated in The Big Build at the National Building Museum, inspiring future builders. Volunteers assembled cardboard bricks beforehand, and kids created impressive structures at HITT's exhibit, making the event a memorable experience for all. Friends and family of team members joined the fun.

Shelter House

In December, our Washington, DC teams fulfilled holiday wish lists for children supported by Shelter House, dedicated to providing crisis intervention, safe housing, and supportive services to those experiencing homelessness and victims of domestic violence. The initiative concluded with a gift-wrapping event, ensuring every child had a present to open during the holiday season.

Be the

Good

At HITT, Be the Good Week is celebrated each April when teams nationwide are encouraged to embrace our core values through local acts of service where we live, play, and work. From serving hot meals and hosting community clean-ups to supporting military veterans and more, these actions truly make a difference, reflecting our belief that individual actions can have great impacts.

In 2024, hundreds of HITT team members participated in more than 25 Be the Good Week events across the country, serving local organizations, neighborhoods, and the planet.
